Eva Brown, Mehlville
Eva Brown, junior, Mehlville
Brown posted her second Class 3 runner-up finish in as many tries last fall with a two-day total of 3-under-par 141 that included a sizzling 4-under 68 in the final round. The reigning All-Metro player of the year also fired a 6-under 64 to win the prestigious Angel Classic title, took the crown at the Suburban Conference Red Pool tourney, posted repeat championship outings at both the Lindbergh Invitational and the Ste. Genevieve Tournament and added titles at the Summit and St. Pius X tournaments.

Hyten enjoyed a strong postseason for the Griffins last year, as she carded a 4-over-par 76 to win the Class 1A Alton Marquette Regional championship, her second regional title in as many tries, fired a personal-best 2-under 70 at the Roxana Sectional to earn a second-place finish and capped it all with a tie for ninth at the Class 1A state tourney. The two-time All-Metro second-team pick also had regular-season titles at the Gateway Metro Conference tourney, the Madison County Small-Schools tourney, the Alton Marquette Blast-Off and the Panther Invitational.

McLaughlin fashioned a strong season last year to help the Vivettes capture the Class 4 team championship, their second state title in three seasons. The All-Metro first-team selection fired an even-par 72 to win the Class 4 District 1 title and was then one shot off the lead after the first round of the Class 4 state tourney before finishing in a tie for seventh, while also posting a runner-up showing at the inaugural Viz-a-tational tourney and tying for fifth at the Angel Classic. McLaughlin has given a verbal commitment to Richmond.

Hannah Mottert, Francis Howell

Mottert produced a strong season last fall for the Vikings, who finished third in Class 4, as she posted a pair of runner-up finishes at the GAC South and Class 4 District 2 tourneys before fashioning the area’s best Class 4 individual finish with a sixth-place effort. The All-Metro second-team pick also finished second at the Troy Invitational, fourth at the Summit Tournament and seventh at the Lindbergh Invitational. Mottert has given a verbal commitment to Central Missouri.

Allyson Suhre, Metro-East Lutheran
Ally Suhre, sophomore, Metro-East Lutheran
Suhre shined bright in her first season with a memorable postseason run last fall. The All-Metro second-team selection finished second at the Class 1A Alton Marquette Regional before moving on to claim third at the Roxana Sectional and then capping it off with the Metro East’s best overall finish by a girls golfer, a tie for third at the Class 1A state tournament.
“It was a really hard choice to decide not to play in college,” Addy Surber said. “It wasn’t an easy choice to make, but it feels right.”
