Paris lost 49-28 to Olney in boys high school basketball play Tuesday at the Little Illini Conference Tourney, while Lawrenceville beat Casey 57-32.
The outcomes set up a 6 p.m. Friday clash between Paris (13-9) and Casey (14-4) in the LIC tourney’s third-place game. Lawrenceville faces Olney at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the championship.
Wednesday’s consolation-bracket includes Robinson vs. Mount Carmel at 6 p.m. for seventh place, followed by Marshall vs. Newton at 7:30 p.m. for fifth place.
In other boys high school basketball:
• Covington 61, Riverton Parke 58 — At Covington, the visiting Panthers suffered their first Wabash River Conference loss on Tuesday night.
After ties at 16 and 33 at the first two stops, Riverton Parke took a 46-44 lead into the fourth quarter but couldn’t hold it despite a game-high 23 points from Jonah Hopkins and 15 by Eli Roberts. Max Waddell had 15 points, Urban Roarks 13 and Austin Stein 11 for the Trojans.
Now 7-8 overall and 2-1 in the WRC, Riverton Parke hosts Parke Heritage on Friday. Covington, 8-10 and 2-1, hosts North Vermillion that night.
Girls basketball
• Linton 51, Sullivan 45 — At Linton, Katherine Sarver scored 14 points and Avari Kelley added 11 for the visiting Golden Arrows, but the Miners held onto to close leads throughout the game on Tuesday night.
Sullivan poured in 18 fourth-quarter points, its strongest outburst, but Linton responded with 20 points in those eight minutes. The Miners led 11-10, 20-18 and 31-27 at the quarter breaks.
The Arrows and Miners will finish the regular season with a rematch next Tuesday at the Class 2A North Knox Sectional.
• West Vigo 43, Riverton Parke 34 — At West Vigo, the host Vikings got their sixth victory of the season inside the Green Dome on Tuesday.
Riverton Parke (11-9) plays host to Fountain Central at 7 p.m. Thursday. West Vigo (6-14) plays host to North Vermillion at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
• North Vermillion 45, Crawfordsville 19 — At Cayuga, the host Falcons outrebounded the Athenians 24-9 and held Crawfordsville to single-digit point totals in each quarter to secure the win Tuesday.
Cadence Dunham paced North Vermillion with 15 points, two rebounds and two steals, while Nora Thomann added 10 points, eight rebounds and four steals.
The Falcons (15-8) will play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at West Vigo.
